I've been loving Avenged Sevenfold for 8 years now.
I've had a pretty damn good life--I'm very fortunate for that. There were a few years there when I was going through the hardest time of my life, which was very dark, and I listened to Avenged's 'Waking the Fallen' and 'City of Evil' CONSTANTLY to help pull me out of that darkness. At a time when I was feeling numb to a lot, they were able to evoke emotion and reignite my passion for music. They helped me tremendously, and for that, they will always be 'MY BAND'.
My good friend, Devin, and I used to travel to shows all across the state to see these boys play. Before I was ever in radio, we had the opportunity of meeting them, and then eventually hanging out, shootin' the sh!t, and having some drinks with them. They were incredibly genuine and humble--just awesome people in general.
I don't mean to get all sappy here, damn it, but last night I got to see them with some of my 98ROCK family, Devin, and other friends I hadn't seen in a long time at the Amway Center. Devin said it best--seeing them felt like coming home. The show was great! I missed Ghost BC, unfortunately, but Deftones and Avenged ruled! I ended up meandering down to the floor and then made my way as close to the front of the pit that I could get. I managed to be about three rows of people back, and I took a bunch of photos that I wanna share with ya.
