The Strokes hint at return in 2014

It looks like the Strokes will be a little more visible next year.

According to "NME," the band sent out a fan e-mail newsletter promoting guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.'s new solo EP.  But they began the letter by telling fans that all of the Strokes are "looking at 2014 for a return to the scene."

The rockers just released their last album, Comedown Machine, in March, but they did little to no promotion for the record and said they have no plans to tour in support of it.  The Strokes aren't offering many details about what their "return" will look like, but they did say they've been busy "toiling and writing."

Meanwhile, Hammond's new EP, "AHJ," was released last week via Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas' label Cult Records.  He's scheduled to embark on a North American tour starting November 3rd in Washington, DC.
