E Street Band's Steven Van Zandt unclear on Springsteen's plans

Steven Van Zandt admits he's not sure just what's ahead for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.  After the group wraps up their European tour later this month they only have one other date booked - the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil on September 21st.

The gap in their schedule has led to rumors that the band might be planning another North American run, but Van Zandt says that's unlikely.  He tells "Rolling Stone" Bruce isn't planning on touring in August, and he doesn't know what might happen beyond that.  He admits it's possible the group will return to the road in October, but says band members "probably would have heard by now" if a fall trek were in the works.

Van Zandt adds that he doesn't know anything about a new Springsteen album.  While Bruce recently said he recorded some songs with the group during their Australian tour, Van Zandt wasn't a part of it - commitments to his Netflix series, "Lilyhammer," forced him to skip that portion of the tour.

Steven says Bruce is continually writing and recording songs and that he "literally always has an album in his pocket."  But he has no idea about an upcoming record from Bruce.
