Investigators are trying to figure out what led to the attack of a 25 year old woman in the High Point section of Clearwater early this morning.
Pinellas County Sheriff's spokesman, Cecilia Baretta, says the woman told investigators she was walking home from a friend's house sometime between midnight and 1:00 Monday moning when two men knocked her down and somehow cut up her back. Baretta says the walk was just a few blocks, and the woman was able to get home. Her roommate called police.
The woman was airlifted to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Baretta says they're not releasing her name because the attackers are still at large.
Baretta says nothing was stolen from the woman. Investigators are still trying to determine exactly what happened.
