Woman at center of infamous killing to be set free
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Valessa Robinson, who became infamous for the role she played in the murder of her mother, is scheduled to be released from prison in Florida.
Tampa Bay-area media outlets are reporting that Robinson will be released on Friday from a south Florida prison.
In 2000, a Tampa judge sentenced Robinson to 20 years in prison for third-degree murder in the death of her mother, Vicki Robinson, plus grand theft of a motor vehicle.
Valessa Robinson was 15 when her mother was killed in 1998. Robinson, her boyfriend, Adam Davis and another friend, Jon Whispel, teamed up to kill her.
Davis is on death row. Whispel was sentenced to 25 years and is currently scheduled to be released in 2020.
