Winter Haven police search for auto theft suspects

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (970 WFLA) -- Winter Haven Police are announcing a cash reward of up to $3,000 for any information in the case of the auto theft from a convenience store early Saturday morning.

Police said they are looking for the three suspects in a grand theft auto case that happened on 11-23-13 at 12:45 a.m. at the Circle K located at 1000 1st St., SE in Winter Haven.

According to the victim, police said she entered the store leaving her 9 year-old daughter inside of the car with the car running. One of the three suspects got into the drivers seat and backed out while the other two suspects walked through the parking lot, according to police. Police said the 9-year-old child was still in the vehicle. When the suspect got to the edge of the parking lot at the beginning of Ave. J, SE, police said he stopped the vehicle to let the other two suspects in.

WHPD said the girl saw this opportunity and opened the car door and ran across the parking lot to where her mother was screaming at the suspects to not take her child. Police said there was no weapon seen and the little girl was not hurt.

Police released the following descriptions of the suspects:

Suspect #1 - black male, heavy build, wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts and black slides with socks

Suspect #2 - thin build wearing a blue tank top, sagging blue jean shorts, a hat with a black and white pattern, black slides and socks

Suspect #3 - muscular build, wearing a gray tank top, blue jean shorts and orange sneakers.

Police announced Monday Nov. 25 that Orlando police located the stolen car.
