TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA.com) - Over the past couple of years, the United States has been slowly recovering from the recession. As we approach the new year, millions of people are still on the hunt for a new job.
In Florida, the unemployment rate currently stands at 6.4 percent. That's actually lower than the national average.
Job creation has been a driving force for Governor Rick Scott's administration. He recently announced a plan to bring an Amazon warehouse to Tampa Bay, bringing in 3,000 jobs.
But, CareerBuilder says there are some other occupations on the rise. The hottest jobs of 2014 run the gamut, from petroleum engineers to event planners to tech jobs.
