Missing Hernando Boaters RESCUED!

HERNANDO BEACH, Fla (970 WFLA)-On Sunday at approximately 10:35 p.m., deputies responded to 10771 pine island dr. in hernando beach in reference to overdue or missing boaters.

After making contact with a female friend of the 2 missing men, deputies learned that Daladier Faust and his friend, Jacob Crooms, left the Pine Island Dr. address at approximately 6 p.m. to launch an older model jet-ski that crooms had just purchased. She believed they were to launch from a boat ramp on Cabana st. Both males were wearing bathing suits and life jackets.

Neither Faust nor Crooms took a cell phone or any other type of communication device with them.

The Hernando county sheriff's office requested assistance from both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The Hernando county sheriff's office and the USCG utilized helicopters to search for the subjects until the weather deteriorated at approximately 4 a.m.

Once the fog cleared, the USCG dispatched their helicopter back to the area. A little after daylight, the two men were located at the mouth of the Weeki Wachee channel. They were removed from the water and flown to the air station in clearwater. The jet-ski will be recovered by FWC.
