ST. PETERSBURG (970 WFLA) -- Pinellas election workers are mailing out absentee ballots for the August 27th primary. But there's still three weeks to request a ballot for those who don't get their ballots in the initial mailing.
This election contains the Mayor and City Council races, but perhaps the biggest attention-getter is the referendum on the future of the St. Pete Pier.
Elections office spokeswoman Nancy Whitlock says the last day to request a ballot is August 21st, and ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Whitlock says they've mailed more than 61,000 ballots to St. Petersburg voters, a record number for a municipal election.
