Former Tampa principal pleads guilty in 2012 Pinellas rampage

TAMPA, Fla (TBO.com)- A former Tampa middle school principal will spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty Monday to charges related to a 2012 rampage in Pinellas County that left two people dead and nine others injured.

Anthony Giancola, who resigned from his job at Van Buren Middle in 2007 after buying crack from an undercover police officer at school, was sentenced to six consecutive life sentences plus 30 years after prosecutors agreed to not seek the death penalty.
