FL Congressman announces leave of absence after drug charge

CAPE CORAL, Fla. (AP) - Florida Republican Rep. Henry ``Trey'' Radel says he's taking a leave of absence from congress and donating his salary to charity.

Radel made the announcement at a news conference late yesterday after pleading guilty earlier to a misdemeanor charge of cocaine possession and receiving a sentence of a year's probation.

Radel represents Florida's 19th district of Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Naples areas.
