Fight over a fender bender crash leads to a stabbing

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Tampa Police are investigating a fight over a fender bender that led to a stabbing.

Police say both vehicles were northbound on MacDill Avenue just south of Bay to Bay Boulevard when traffic came to a sudden stop. They say a white Toyota hit the back of a black Audi. Police say both vehicles pull over into the parking lot of the Bay Oaks Apartments.

Then, police say the passenger of the Audi, Robert Suarez and the driver of the Toyota, Steven Baker, along with his passenger, Torrie Worthy, got out of their cars to discuss the crash.

Police say the discussion turned into an argument and Worthy and Baker began punching Suarez. Then, police say Suarez pulled out a knife and stabbed Baker. After the stabbing, police say Suarez immediately starts first aid on Baker who was then transported to Tampa General Hospital. They say he is in good condition.

Police say Suarez was treated at the scene for cuts to his head, wrist, legs and knees.
