Ex-Storm player questioned in fatal shooting at Whole Foods

TAMPA, FL (TBO.com) — A former Tampa Bay Storm player was questioned in the shooting death of another man behind the Whole Foods Market in Carrollwood on Tuesday morning.

David Saunders, a West Virginia University standout who played with the Storm from 2002 through 2005 and for a few games in 2008, was not arrested. He said he fired the shot in self defense because the victim was coming at him with a knife behind the grocery store on Northdale Boulevard, just west of North Dale Mabry Highway.
