It all began Thursday just before 10 p.m. as officers responded to a disturbance call on the 9100 block of 54th Way N. in Pinellas Park for reports that a man was grabbing and pushing a woman. Police say the woman told officers that the man battered her, and that she was pregnant with his child.

During the search, one K9 team saw the man in the backyard of a home on the 5800 block of 91st Ave N. Police say the dog and handler were not hit and the suspect threw the gun into another yard where it was later found.
