Firefighters said the explosion was followed by a hundred foot cloud that rocked the Mosiac Plant located on Highway 41.
HCFR said routine maintenance of an empty acid tank ruptured causing the top to fly approximately 100 feet and crash down on the ground.
Two Mosaic employees sustained injuries that were non-life threatening and were taken to an area hospital, according to officials.
HCFR's hazardous incident team was on scene with multiple other units and metered the air for safety, according to authorities.
